AFTERCARE

The First Night

It is not uncommon for the client to be aware of the system on the first night. The scalp usually has nothing on it so it may be irritated for the first day or two. Once the scalp gets used to the system, then they will not notice the system on.

Ensure hair is neat to sleep on the first night, back in a bobble or in plaits whichever is most comfortable.

The Morning After Fitting

Please check the hair and system to make sure it looks secure. If you do notice anything different please contact me immediately. The system is only secured by a net and thread so do not panic if it ever became loose as this can easily be fixed and will not cause damage to the natural hair.

Checks In The Future

The main idea of the system is for the client not to worry and feel like the new hair is their own hair. Therefore, when you are looking at the system because you are drawing attention to it, maybe say that you are looking for any new hair growing. If you say that “you think that you can see some” (after a while obviously). This will make you look at the system as a positive thing and get them feeling good again.

Hair Styling

Always remember that the system has two layers, the net and the hair net on top therefore it has more density than your natural hair. Which may cause it to stick out more than the natural hair with certain styles. It is down to you to find styles that cover the system this could be with clips and swapping partings ect. You can contact us for any hairstyling ideas! Use of hairsprays & dry shampoo can also dry out the knots as these are dry products and make the knots become brittle.

Washing

Number one rule with the system is to be gentle. You can wash the natural hair as normal but do not be hard rubbing the net. When washing your closure be sure to not scrub your shampoo & conditioner through as being too rough can cause the knots to weaken, but instead lightly pat it through, this is going to put less stress on the knots. Make sure to not over wash, we recommend washing your head unit once a week & to to go longer than 10 days.

Drying

Please gently hold the top of the net, brush the ends of the hair then brush up to the top. Once the hair is all brushed please then dry the system with the hairdryer pointing down. If you blast the hair off the hair on the net will become bushy. If you brush the hair down as your drying it that will give it a sleek finish.

Heat Styling

You can straighten and curl the hair as normal as it is all human hair. Heat is fine on the closure, but again just be quite cautious of how often you're using heat as you don't want to be over doing it as you don't want to cause the knots to become to brittle, as this over time may also cause shedding.

Maintenance

You will need your maintenance every 4-5weeks however we would like the first appointment to be at 3 weeks to check the hair. We understand that this is new to you both and we are happy if you want to come in a week or two after your first appointment for a sooner check to put both your minds at ease. Regular refits is a must. Head units tend to grow back after a few weeks exposing clients natural hairline & we have found that if not refitted clients tend to try and pull the closure forward, doing this everyday overtime is going to cause shedding on the front of your closure.

Colouring

All hair colours and toners will eventually fade after 2-3months. This is the exact same if you was to put a colour on your natural hair and then never colour it again. It will fade over time. Please be aware that once your colour fades you may have to pay for an additional colour service if you are

wanting the colour to stay the same. We do offer hair extensions colouring services and prices are available on our booking system. Client should never apply bleach to any of our hair extensions. Colouring our closures should never be done by a client only a colour specialist & when being coloured the colour should only be applied using 10 vol & we also recommend the closure to be wet when colouring, this is going to colour it in the kindest way possible & also helps with blending your colour.

Things to look out for:

Snapped thread: this can be fixed by a 5-minute appointment.

Itching: this will be shampoo caught in the system. Please use the shower head on the hair to rinse or ensure lots of water is used to rinse when washing.

Spots: if the child is itching this may cause irritating spots. If you wash the hair and they still remain there please contact us so we can remove the system, this could simply be the child’s scalp is too sensitive and we do not want to cause them any discomfort or distress.

Scratching - we have found this to be one of the most common causes of shedding as the friction of the scratching motion is going to eventually over time cause the knots to become loose and closure to she's in these areas, to avoid this we will tell clients to use a tail comb and use the pin end of the comb to scratch underneath the closure.

Removal:

If for any reason you or the little lady do not want to the system on anymore, please contact us immediately. We understand that things such as travelling, or styling can be a lot to keep up to and we will happily book you in the same or next day for a removal.

We’re always here to help so please contact us with any questions or queries.
